ROLE OVERVIEW

The All-Rounder is responsible for supporting daily front-of-house and basic back-of-house operations across the venue. This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to customer experience, teamwork, and operational standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, attentive, and professional customer service, including greeting guests, taking orders, answering questions, and explaining menu items.
  • Operate POS systems (including Square), process transactions accurately, and follow all cash handling procedures.
  • Prepare and serve beverages (including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks where applicable) in accordance with training and recipes.
  • Prepare and serve food items in accordance with menu standards, food safety requirements, and training provided.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic workspace, including service areas, seating areas, floors, and equipment.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setup, cleaning, and basic reporting tasks.
  • Receive, check, and store deliveries; restock inventory and monitor stock levels.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth service and minimise errors.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and adhere to uniform requirements.
  • Support venue operations as directed by supervisors or managers.

Additional Duties – Cafe Tomi & Interlude

  • Prepare café-style beverages with consistency and efficiency (including espresso-based coffee).
  • Assist with light food preparation, plating, and basic kitchen support where required.
  • Engage with customers in a warm, casual café environment, supporting repeat visitation and community building.
  • Maintain display areas (e.g. cakes, retail items) to a high visual and hygiene standard.

Additional Duties – Bar Kaeru

  • Provide elevated table/bar service in a high-engagement, bar-style dining environment.
  • Develop knowledge of menu offerings, including Japanese food, sake, and beverages, and confidently communicate these to guests.
  • Assist with basic beverage service, including pouring sake and preparing simple drinks (as trained).
  • Support a fast-paced evening service with strong awareness of timing, coordination, and guest experience.
  • Maintain a high level of attentiveness to guests in a seated bar environment, fostering interaction and atmosphere.
  • Assist with late-night closing duties, including detailed cleaning and reset of the venue.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Previous hospitality experience preferred.
  • Food safety knowledge or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Valid working rights in Australia.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
  • Minimum hours required for part time employment.
